Arriving at Malta Airport
After landing, you will disembark via a jet bridge. Arrivals at Malta Airport are straightforward, as the hub is small and everything is within walking distance. You will need to follow the ‘Exit’ Signs and walk down the stairs or take a lift down to the baggage reclaim area on the Ground Floor.
If you are coming from a country outside the Schengen area, you will go through passport controls before going down to the Ground Floor. There are generally no identity checks for flights within the Schengen zone, but keep your identity documents ready just in case.
Once you’ve collected your luggage, you can head towards the exit. Customs are just nearby if you have something to declare. If not, just go straight through ‘Nothing to declare’, and you’ll enter Malta Airport Arrivals Hall.
Malta Airport Transport
Malta Airport is only 10 km from Valletta, the island’s capital. The X4 bus stops at the airport and goes to the city centre in about 30 minutes. Other bus lines connect the airport to other towns on the island, and reliable and low-cost airport taxis are available 24/7 outside the terminal.
