Malta International Airport Arrivals Information

Malta Airport is the only airport for the three Maltese islands and has been steadily gaining in popularity. It welcomes over 8 million passengers a year. The airport operates flights from inside and outside the Schengen area, with the UK and Germany being the two biggest origin countries.

There is just one terminal at the airport, so finding your way around is simple enough. If in doubt, you can check our Malta Airport Arrivals live flight board above to learn more about your flight.

Main Terminal

Malta Airport Arrivals – Arrivals Hall is on the Ground Floor.

Operating Airlines –  Aegean Airlines, Air Baltic, Air France, Air Malta, Air Serbia, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Brussels Airlines, Corendon Airlines Europe, easyJet, Emirates, Eurowings, Finnair, Iberia Express, ITA Airways, Jet2.com, Lufthansa, Luxair, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Qatar Airways, Ryanair, Scandinavian Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, Transavia, and Turkish Airlines.

Getting through Malta Airport Arrivals

After landing, passengers usually disembark via a jet bridge, though some flights may use buses to reach the terminal. The airport is compact and easy to navigate. You’ll arrive on Level 1 and then follow the “Exit” signs, taking either the stairs or an elevator down to Malta Airport’s Arrivals on the Ground Floor.

If you are coming from a country outside the Schengen area, you will go through passport control before heading to the Ground Floor. There are generally no identity checks for flights within the Schengen zone, but keep your identity documents ready just in case.

Once you’ve collected your luggage, you can head towards the exit. Customs are just nearby if you have something to declare. If not, just go straight through “Nothing to declare”, and you’ll enter Malta Airport Arrivals Hall.

Malta Airport Transport

Malta Airport is only 10 km from Valletta, the island’s capital. The X4 bus stops at the airport and goes to the city center in around 20-30 minutes. Other bus lines connect the airport to other towns on the island, and reliable and low-cost Malta Airport taxis are available 24/7 outside the terminal.
