The walled capital of Malta, Valletta, was established in the 1500s and is known for its Baroque architecture, museums, palaces and grand churches. Malta International Airport (MLA) is located approximately 10 km away from Valletta, taking around 15 minutes by car.
When travelling from Malta Airport to Valletta, you have three different transfer options; taxi, private transfer or bus. An airport taxi is the most convenient option as the journey takes just 15 minutes and the service is door-to-door.
A cheaper alternative is to take the bus. The X4 bus operates direct routes from the airport to the city centre of Valletta. Tickets cost just €2 but the journey takes slightly longer than a taxi.
