Cancun International Airport is the main gateway for the Cancun Area in Quintana Roo, the Mexican Caribbean, Riviera Maya and the Yucatán Peninsula. It is one of the largest airports in Mexico and the second busiest airport in Latin America, welcoming an average of 32 million passengers a year and operating around 500 flights per day. As well as being a main hub for VivaAerobus, Mexico Cancun Airport is home to around 50 airlines including Aeromexico, Virgin Atlantic, and Air Transat.

Fast Track and VIP Services

While the airport doesn’t provide its own fast track service, a few private companies are offering VIP services for arrivals and departures at Cancun Airport including meet and greets, priority check-in and security fast track. Some of these companies also provide Special Assistance and family packages.

You’ll receive instructions on what to do when you arrive at the airport along with your booking confirmation.

VIP Lounges

VIP lounges at Cancun Airport offer travelers a quiet and exclusive space to relax before their flight. The MERA Business Lounges are the airport’s official VIP lounge brand, available in Terminals 2, 3, and 4, offering access to amenities such as Wi-Fi, charging stations, lounge seating, air conditioning, televisions, and complimentary snacks and beverages.

In addition to MERA lounges, The Lounge, operated by Global Lounge Network, is also available in Terminals 2, 3, and 4, offering access via memberships like Priority Pass and LoungeKey, or by purchasing a day pass.

Whilst most of the lounges accept walk-ins based on capacity, it’s wiser to reserve a VIP lounge package online in advance to guarantee a spot. Lounges can be accessed 3 hours prior to international flight departures and 2 hours before the rest.

Terminal 2:

Mera Business Lounge – After security, only for passengers with scheduled flight departures. Opening Hours: 06:00-22:00.

Salon Premier Aeromexico Lounge – After security, available to Aeromexico eligible passengers (no walk-ins). Opening Hours: 05:00-21:00.

The Lounge (Global Lounge Network) – After security, 2nd floor left past duty-free shops. Access via Priority Pass, LoungeKey, Diners Club, or paid entry. Opening Hours: 06:00 – until last departure flight.

Terminal 3:

Mera Business Lounge – After security, only for passengers departing on international flights. Opening Hours: 07:00-22:00.

The Lounge (Global Lounge Network) – Located pre-security, near the terminal entrance (landside). Access for international travelers via Priority Pass, LoungeKey, or day pass. Opening Hours: 24 hours

Terminal 4:

Mera Business Lounge (International) – Located near Gate 67A, after security. For passengers flying internationally. Opening Hours: 06:00-22:00.

Cancun Airport Parking

Cancun Airport offers affordable parking in front of each terminal, all with 24/7 security. Simply park your car in the lot and buy your parking tickets at the ATMs inside each terminal.

Whether you’re dropping someone off or are going on a long trip, parking at Cancun Airport allows you to stay for as little or as long as you want. Prices are per hour but if you need to stay for more than 6 hours, it’s also possible to pay per day.

You’ll pay $1.85 (€1.66/MXN 36) per hour and the day rate is $11 (€9.90/MXN 215) for 24 hours.

Terminal Information

Cancun Airport has four terminals. Terminal 1 is used strictly for charter flights, Terminal 2 is mainly used for domestic flights, while Terminals 3 and 4 are used for international flights. All areas have baby changing rooms, toilets and accessible facilities, money services, waiting areas, medical facilities and various travel services. There’s also plenty of shopping to do and a good selection of restaurants and cafes.

Terminal 2 handles domestic and International flights. It is the largest terminal and has two arrival areas divided into domestic and international, and 31 gates split between two buildings. The main building is split between two floors, the first floor is for domestic departures and the second floor is for international flights.
