Arriving at Cancun Airport

After landing at Cancun Airport arrivals, follow the signs for “Immigration” and start queuing. It’s important to make sure you have the correct travel documents for a smooth entry into Mexico such as VisiTAX and a visa, if necessary. The VisiTAX is mandatory for all international visitors arriving by air in the state of Quintana Roo, including Cancun.

Next, follow the signs to the baggage claim area and collect your luggage. From there, you can make your way through Cancun Airport customs. Travelers are required to fill out a customs declaration form (Hacienda). You must submit the form at customs and press a button on a device resembling a traffic light: a green light indicates clearance, while a red light signals a baggage inspection. You can then exit into the Arrivals Hall.
