How to get from Samos Airport to Samos Town
As soon as you land at Samos International Airport (SMI), you will have two transfer options to reach Samos city centre; a taxi or bus. A Samos airport taxi is the fastest and easiest mode of transportation. The total journey time is around 20-30 minutes and as Samos taxis are metered, the estimated cost of the journey is 25-30€. The town buses reach the city centre via Pithagoreion or Mitilinioi and take around 25-30 minutes. Although tickets are cheap at 2€, the buses are infrequent and on weekends are almost non-existent.

How to get from Samos airport to the city centre by bus
Samos KTEL local buses are the alternative option in order to reach Samos town after landing to Samos airport. The public transportation option is very cheap at just 2€ for a one-way ticket and can transfer you to Samos Central Bus Station in about 25-30 minutes. However, buses are not frequent and are almost none existent on weekends.
How much is the bus from Samos airport to Samos Town?
The KTEL local bus ticket price is 2€ per person, while children up to 6 years old travel for free. Tickets can be bought from the driver as soon as you enter the bus. It's always advisable to have small change with you.

Where do I get it from?
The KTEL local bus stop is situated just outside the arrivals hall of the airport. You can very easily spot it as soon as you exit the terminal building.
The bus may be a very affordable choice but it is definitely not a comfortable one. The KTEL local bus schedule from the airport is highly infrequent. In fact, there are only 8 transit bus routes per day to Samos, via Pythagoreion or Mitilinioi, while on Saturdays, the number of buses is reduced to only 3 and on Sundays, they don't operate at all.
Although the travel time may be almost the same as a private transfer, as your drop-off point is the Central Bus Station in Samos, so you will have to reach your hotel on foot or by another mode of transportation.
Taking the bus is the ideal option if you are looking for a low cost transfer. The bus ride from Samos airport to the city centre is only about 5-10 minutes longer than a taxi ride, but the bus ticket costs only 2€, making it a great alternative if you are travelling on a budget.

However, the grey vehicles with the "taxi" sign on top, are still the most convenient mode of transportation, as they will drive you to the front door of your hotel in about 20-30 minutes, depending on the traffic. Samos airport taxis don't have fixed fares but you can expect to be charged around 25-30€ for your trip to the city centre.

Samos airport taxis may be affordable but they are certainly more expensive than buses. However, they are arguably the safest, most comfortable and flexible transfer option. Available at any time of day, they guarantee your stress-free and time-saving ride from Samos airport to your hotel in the city centre. This door-to-door service makes taxis the preferred travel choice after a long and tiring flight.
