How to get from Hanoi airport to the city centre by bus

Several public buses run between Noi Bai International Airport and Hanoi city centre. Firstly, the No. 86 bus, an express bus line that departs from both airport terminals and ends at Hanoi Train Station taking 1 hour to reach. Alternatively, buses No. 7, 17, and 90 take 1 hour 30 minutes to get to downtown. The bus terminal No. 7 is at Kim Ma Bus Station, the bus terminal for bus No. 17 is at Long Bien Station, and the terminal for bus No. 90 is at Kim Ma and Nhat Tan Bridge.

How much is a bus ticket from Hanoi airport to downtown?

Bus stops for No. 7 and 17 are only outside terminal 1, and Express bus No. 86 and bus No. 90 are located outside both Hanoi airport terminals.

Taking either one of the airport’s public buses is the most cost-savvy travel option to downtown Hanoi. However, seats are limited on the buses, and they can often get very crowded. Moreover, buses No. 7, 17, and 90 require that you stand during the journey, which can be difficult with your luggage. Going further, if you arrive at the airport during the night, you will have to take a taxi to Hanoi city centre.
