From there, you will need to find another taxi to your Medellin hotel, which should be fairly easy as there are many yellow taxis lined up at the mall.

However, choosing this option means that you will have to find your own way from the drop-off point in Medellin city centre, San Diego mall. Going further, if you are travelling with a lot of luggage, shared taxis are not your best option as you are sharing the car boot with other passengers.

If you are travelling back to the airport with a white shared taxi, you will find them waiting at the Texaco gas station parking lot that is located next to San Diego mall.

Useful Tips

If you arrive first, make sure to get into the front passenger seat if you don't you will find yourself crammed in the back with two other strangers.
Keep in mind that most "colectivo" taxis wait until they have four passengers. If you are in a hurry, it is best to find another way into the city centre.

Your cheaper travel option from José María Córdova airport to the city centre of Medellin is to take the airport public bus. The Aeropuerto-Combuses buses are a great way to travel as they are small buses, with only 19 seats. Moreover, some airport buses use the old route, and some buses use the new tunnel route (which is a faster option); those that do, will have a lit “Tunnel” sign on the front of the vehicle.
Please note that there are two drop-off points; the first is at San Diego mall, where the bus will stop across from the mall. The second drop-off point is in El-Centro, behind the Nutibara hotel.

Moreover, when you reach one of the two bus stops in Medellin city centre, you will have to find another way to your accommodation, which can be tedious, especially if you are travelling with children or heavy luggage.
