From the moment you fly into Santa Marta, you will be surrounded by the vibrant colours of the Caribbean. This beautiful city is located on the northern coast of Colombia, overlooking the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. However, Santa Marta isn’t just known for its beautiful beaches, it’s also home to the Tayrona National Natural Park and a perfect jumping-off point for those wishing to trek to the Lost City of Teyuna.
You have two different transfer options to get from Santa Marta Airport to the city, taking a taxi or the public bus. Taking an airport taxi will take just 30 minutes to reach your hotel in the city and will cost a set fare of €6.50 (COP 30,000). Taking the bus is a slightly cheaper option, with a ticket cost of €0.50 (COP 2,000) per passenger, but a journey time of at least 45 minutes.
