The city of Yerevan perfectly encompasses both the past and present. Armenia’s capital city has plenty of modern amenities, such as world-class bars, restaurants and shopping malls, but it’s also home to many historical sites and buildings, such as the Republic Square, the National Academic Theatre of Opera, and the Matenadaran Research Institute.
