Taxis are the most accessible and stress-free method of transport into the city centre. Taxis are always available outside the airport and provide a comfortable and quick journey to the centre. The wait for a taxi is far less than that of public transport and although the cost is a little higher, you will be delivered exactly to your location in the city. Always ensure that you communicate with the driver the approximate cost of the journey and demand the meter to be running.
Granada Airport has the full name of Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport, and some variation of this name is used by locals!
Always ensure that your driver turns on the meter for the taxi when you get in. The starting fare should be around 4€ for an airport pick up, no more.
There are two types of taxis available – urban and intercity, if you are planning to travel further outside Granada, take the intercity taxis for a better rate.
It is good to ask for a receipt of the journey if you are unsure if the price is reasonable; this is standard for taxis to avoid a scam.
