Baku taxis may come in a variety of colours but you’ll find them all parked at the taxi rank outside the terminal area of Baku Airport. Just look out for the long queue of vehicles and walk up to the first cab in line.

How to get from Baku Airport to City Centre by bus

There is an alternative way to get from Baku airport to the city centre and that is by bus. You simply need to get the Aero Express bus from Baku Heydar Aliyev Airport to the 28 May Station. The airport shuttle bus will need approximately half an hour to reach downtown.

A journey from Baku Airport to the city by bus costs only €2 (AZN 3.65) per passenger. Please note that “Aero Express “ utilises the BakuCard system. BakuCard is the new electronic payment card that operates in accordance with international standards. Unfortunately, the Aero Express bus does not accept cash payments.

Although a great budget alternative, the bus compared to a taxi is far less convenient, especially when travelling in a larger group or with younger children. You may have to wait a while to get on the next bus which can be tiring after a long flight, while the bus also fails to offer door-to-door transportation, seeing as you will need to walk or find another way to get to your accommodation once you get off at your nearest bus stop in downtown Baku.
