How to get from Malaga Airport to the city centre by taxi
Malaga airport taxis are located outside of the the airport's terminal 3 at a designated rank. They are situated right in front of the terminal and therefore are hard to miss. Taxis provide multiple amounts of seats available - though it is not always guaranteed that these will be available. Taxis taken from the rank should all have meters and licences displayed.

The cost of the taxi from Malaga airport is metered, so there will be a difference in rate depending on what time and day you take the taxi. As a general rule, the taxis will have a starting rate from the pick up from the airport of 5.50€, and the journey will likely cost around 20€ to the city all up.
Night-time rates for airport transits are in effect from 10:00pm-6:00am everyday, as well as on weekends and holidays - around 22€
Holy Days or Festival Days may also affect the price, and are charged at the night-time rate.

Taxis are the most comfortable means of transport to the city, especially when the weather is warm with air-conditioning and shorter waiting times than public transport. They provide a door-to-door service and is the best option when you have a lot of luggage to take with you.
If you are travelling in large groups, in a big flight or have a lot of luggage, it is advisable to pre-book a transfer from the airport. Although the taxis are organised, special situations cannot always be catered to and queuing in the heat can be bothersome.
Taxis can charge for especially large or excess luggage (0.65€ per bag).
If you are on a late flight between 12:00am - 6:00am and take a taxi, an extra 2€ may be charged.
Always ensure that the meter is running when you take a taxi, to avoid being overcharged for your transit.

How to get from Malaga Airport to the city centre by bus
The bus station at Malaga airport is conveniently located outside the departures and provides a dedicated line from the airport to city. The line is named the Linea Express A and will take you into the centre with ten convenient stops along the route. The bus will take between 15-25 minutes to reach the centre, traffic dependent. The bus leaves every 30 minutes and operates between 7am and midnight.

The bus fare for the city centre trip should cost 3€, tickets are available for purchase on the bus from the driver with cash.
There may be up to a 30-minute wait for the bus.

Although a cheap option, the bus takes much longer than either of the other alternatives and can be busy after large flights despite luggage racks being available on it. Additionally, there can be a long wait for the bus which can be bothersome after a flight.
Although rather regular and reliable, it is always best to check online for the updated information about the bus schedule as holidays and festivals could cause changes to occur.
Although there is a ticket station at Terminal 3, you can buy the ticket for the bus directly from the driver.
There are multiple bus options at the airport, some intercity. Ensure you follow the signs and take the correct bus.
There are luggage racks available on the bus from the airport for your larger luggage.
How to get from Malaga Airport to the city centre by train
Malaga airport provides a fairly new train that is a quick and easy way to reach the city centre. The train is the Line C1 from airport to city, and takes about 12 minutes to reach the centre, stopping at other good locations on it's route. The train departs every 20 minutes between 6:30am and 12:30am daily.

The ticket hall located in terminal 3 is a ticket purchasing station for multiple different trains and long-distance or intercity buses. Ensure you are selecting the right ticket for your needs.
The ticket machines in terminal 3 are available in English and there are staff there to assist.
When you alight the train, getting off at the last station (Centro-Alameda) is less busy and more central.
Trains also go intercity from the airport, so make sure you ask the staff if you are confused about which train to catch.
