How to get from Nice Airport to City Centre
Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is located only 7.6km from the city centre, so luckily any transport option you decide to take shouldn't cost you too much time. Currently there are only 2 forms of transport to get you to the city centre from the airport, that is by bus or by taxi. Bus services via airport buses are 6€ and take around 15-20 minutes to reach the city. Public buses are 1.50€, require walking from to the airport to the main road in order to catch them, and take around 30 minutes to get to the city centre of Nice. Alternatively, Nice airport taxis cost 32€ (flat-rate fee) and the trip to the city centre takes approximately 10-15 minutes. There is currently a tram under construction in Nice that will replace the bus services and link the city with the airport. It is expected to be operational by 2019. Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Nice at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.

Taxis are the most convenient option for those in groups with luggage or children, as they are quick, comfortable and reliable. There can be a long wait for public transport, as well as crowding and extra travel time, so taxis are best to eliminate any stress associated with other methods of transportation.
There is a helpful app to use within Nice to figure out how much a taxi will cost you around the city, as well as a convenient way to order one to your location - make sure to ask the locals for the details!
Buses tend to get full so taking a taxi is a good option to ensure your ride, or if you are outside the usual operating bus hours.
Make sure to take cash, many taxis don't have card machines and don't like to use them!
Ensure that you let the driver know that you are aware of the fixed price fare.
How to get from Nice Airport to city centre by bus
There are two major public buses, as well as standard bus lines that go from the airport into the city. The Aero bus numbers are 99 and 98, both of which stop at the airport terminals and take you to downtown Nice. 99 takes you to Nice Ville de Gare SNCF Train Station and 98 goes along the seafront Promenade des Anglais via town centre. The 98 stops more frequently along the Promenade, taking around 35 minutes. The 99 is more direct at only 15 minutes.
There is also the option of taking the public bus no. 23, but this takes a bit longer (around 40 minutes) as it is not an airport bus and will require walking from the airport to the main road to catch it.
How much is the bus from Nice Airport to city centre?
The bus costs 6€/pp for the Aero Bus. If you are taking the public bus, the fare is 1.50€.
Tickets can be purchased from the drivers on the bus (make sure you have small change) or at the ticket window of Terminal 2 (outside before you cross the road to the bus stop) with credit cards.
*The 98 bus leaves every 15-20 minutes and the 99 bus twice every hour.
Buses from the Airport are available between 07:00am - 09:00pm.
Where do I get it from?
The bus stops are outside the arrivals halls at Terminals 1 bus station, gate A0 and Terminal 2 : arrivals level, gates A2 / A3.
You may need to walk a short distance from the airport to take the cheaper public bus as the stop is located on the main road between airport and city (Promenade des Anglais),
Although the airport buses are quite efficient, they can be crowded, and the tickets don't guarantee you a place on the bus if you've purchased in advance. There can also be a long wait time between buses. If your transfer is time sensitive, it is best to take a taxi.
Bus 23 doesn’t stop at the airport but is available at a short walk from the main road – if you have minimal luggage this is the best bus to take as it’s cheapest. Regular buses 23, 52, 59 and 70 stop at Aeroport/Promenade. These are regular commuter buses without space for luggage but the tickets are cheap at €1.50 per journey – day and week passes accepted too.
You can buy passes for weeks’ worth of travel if you are staying longer, but note that these are not valid for the airport buses.
You can keep your ticket for up to 74 minutes of travel.
Make sure you validate your ticket at the front of the bus when boarding.
