Gyeongju, known as the museum without walls, is an up-and-coming destination located in the North Gyeongsang Province of South Korea. Gyeongju’s distinctive neighbourhoods bring a vibe of their own so you’ll want to allow enough time to soak up the atmosphere of each one. The House of the Gyeongju Choi Clan sets the tone for tranquil Gyochon Hanok Maeul, you’ll find bustling cafes and eateries in trendy Hwangridangil and just south of the city centre, you can discover historical sites from when the city was the centre of the Silla dynasty. On your travels, be sure to sample some of Gyeongju’s best street food; cream cheese garlic bread, hanwoo, and barbequed ribs are just a few to get those taste buds tingling.
There are two main ways to travel from Gimhae Airport – also known as Busan Airport – to Gyeongju: taxi or private transfer, and bus. The fastest and most convenient options are to take an airport taxi from right outside the arrival terminal or to pre-book a private airport taxi so that your driver will be waiting for you when you land. A cheaper option is to take an intercity bus, but be aware that the bus can have long wait times.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Busan at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
