Makkah al-Mukarramah, more commonly known as Makkah or Mecca, is an oasis in the Saudi Arabian desert and is Islam’s most holy city. Only Muslims are allowed inside the city of Makkah, as it’s a holy pilgrimage site. Every year, millions of people head to Makkah on their annual Hajj, ending their pilgrimage at the central Masjid al-Haram mosque, with the iconic Kaaba, a sacred cloth-covered cube.
To get from Madinah Airport to Makkah, you have two transfer options: taxi or a combined taxi and train journey.
