Hat Yai is located in the Songkhla Province of Southern Thailand and is a region rich in diversity and culture. There’s a major street food scene to be found here, where you’ll be on the hunt for the best Gai Tod (fried chicken) and Thai boat noodles. Head to one of the city’s many markets to nab a bargain or interesting souvenir – Kim Yong, Greenway Night Market and ASEAN Trade Bazaar are some of the most popular ones. And don’t miss Wat Hat Yai Nai, one of the largest reclining Buddhas in the country.
There are two main transportation options from Hat Yai Airport to the town centre: a taxi or private transfer, and a shared minibus. The taxi and private transfer provide a quick and easy door-to-door service which takes around 25 minutes during light traffic and costs €6.50 (THB 250) for up to 4 people. The shared minibus is the cheapest transport option at €2.60 (THB 100) per person and takes between 40 and 60 minutes, depending on traffic and how many passengers need to be dropped off along the way.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Hat Yai at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
