Rassada Pier is Phuket’s main departure point for all ferries to the surrounding Thai islands. Most of the big 200 to 400 seater ferries dock at the pier in order to pick up all the travellers. It is located just 10 minute’s drive from Phuket Town, which is very convenient for an easy transfer.

How to get from Phuket airport to Rassada Pier by bus

Although being the cheaper option, taking the bus from the airport to Rassada Pier is not the most convenient one. Unfortunately, there is no direct bus from the airport to the pier; you will first have to take the airport bus to Phuket town and stop at Sino Inn Phuket. From there, you will have to take a taxi to get to the pier. The bus trip takes around 1 hour 10 minutes. From there, you will have to get a taxi, only taking 10 minutes to reach Rassada Pier.

How much is a bus ticket from Phuket airport to Rassada Pier?

A one-way ticket on the Phuket airport bus costs €3 (115 THB) and can only be purchased directly from the driver in cash (Thai Baht). You will then have to pay for an additional taxi ride to the pier; the 10-minute drive costs €6 (230 THB), bringing the combined trip to €9 (345 THB).

Where do I get it from?

The bus terminal is located at Phuket airport’s arrival terminal, on the left side of the exit doors. The bus terminal should be easy to find as there is signage placed around the airport, or you can ask the airport staff for directions.

Not only does the airport bus stop many times along the way to the city centre of Phuket, which is very tiring after a long flight, you will then have to get off at Sino Inn in Phuket town and find a taxi to finish off your trip to the pier, which makes this travel option even more demanding.

As this option is so impractical, it is not common amongst travellers, unless they are already in the centre of Phuket. It is highly recommended to take a taxi from the airport to the pier.
If you are not travelling with much luggage, your other option for the second half of your trip to Rassada Pier is to get a motorbike or a famous Thai Tuk Tuk.
