How to Get from Perth Airport to Rockingham

Rockingham can be reached by bus from Perth Airport and then by train. Although indirect and longer than the taxi, this option is very affordable. It’s worth considering if you’re travelling on a tight budget and your flight times align with those of the buses and trains. 

The journey involves taking a bus from Perth Airport to the city centre, then a train towards Mandurah, stopping at Rockingham.

The combined bus and train ticket costs €3.10 (AUD 5.10) for all passengers, regardless of age. The fare is reduced to €2.80 (AUD 4.59) for SmartRider cardholders. Children under 4 travel for free. You can purchase your ticket from ticket machines at the train stations.

Because it’s not a direct route and there is a short walk required, this is not the most convenient option to get to Rockingham. The bus and train do run frequently during the week, however, which is a pro for this option. Of course, this combination is not very practical if you have a lot of luggage. Similarly, if you arrive at night or over the weekend when bus and train services are less frequent, this travel option may be less attractive because of the longer total journey time.
