Buses depart from Transperth Stand 1/2 on Horrie Miller Drive which is a short 2-minute walk from Terminal 2.

Transwa is the Western Australian government’s regional public transport road coach. The company offers regular services between Perth and Margaret River. Buses depart from East Perth Terminal in the city centre.

To get there, you must first take a train from Perth Airport (Airport Line) to Mt Lawley Station. You will then need to walk or hail a taxi to East Perth Terminal. The walk takes 16 minutes. From here, you can catch a SW1 bus to Augusta, which stops at Margaret River.

The train transfer from Perth Airport to the city centre takes about 15 minutes, and the bus journey takes about 5 hours—sometimes a little less, but sometimes up to 5 hours and 30 minutes, depending on the length of stops at certain stations. In total, allow 5 hours 45 minutes for the fastest journey (train, transfer to bus terminal, and bus journey), not including waiting times.

Once you arrive at Mt Lawley Station, you’ll need take a 16-mintue walk to East Perth Terminal. From there, simply check the notice boards for your bus’s departure platform number. You can always go to the information desk if you have any questions.

The combined train and bus is by far the least convenient option for getting from Perth Airport to Margaret River. You must walk to the Train Station from the airport and then from the Train Station to East Perth Terminal, which may not be the easiest thing to do if you have a lot of luggage. What’s more, the timetables are restrictive, and the total journey time is much longer than by bus or taxi.
