Getting from Enfidha Airport to the City Center

Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport (NBE) is conveniently located near the Tunisian cities of Enfidha and Hammamet, as the name suggests. When traveling from Enfidha-Hammamet Airport to Hammamet city center, you have three main transport options to choose from: taxi, private transfer, or the local bus.

An Enfidha-Hammamet Airport taxi and private transfer are the most convenient choices since they offer the only direct and door-to-door transport in as little as 40 minutes. With an Enfidha-Hammamet Airport transfer, you can also enjoy fixed fare prices with modern and spacious vehicles.

The only public transport option is the bus. This is by far the cheapest way to travel, however, there are only a few services a day, and of those, not all reach the city center of Hammamet. You should allow at least 1 hour for the journey, plus any wait and transfer times.

How to get from Enfidha Airport to city center by taxi

Getting from Enfidha Airport to the city center is the fastest and only direct way to reach your accommodation. With around-the-clock availability, Hammamet Airport taxis provide the most flexibility, offering air-conditioned rides for up to three or four passengers. Taxis are metered, although it’s possible to negotiate a price if you don’t mind bartering.

How much is a taxi from Enfidha Airport to the city center?

Hammamet taxis calculate their fare prices using a taximeter, which includes a base fee and a charge for every 70 meters traveled, and every 23 seconds spent waiting. On average, the price of a taxi from Enfidha Airport to the city center will be around €18.50 (TND 63) for three or four people. Extra charges for large luggage items, traveling at night (21:00 – 05:00), and using the air conditioning will be added on top.

For a competitive set rate fee with no hidden charges, you can pre-book a private transfer with Welcome Pickups and pay for your trip at the time of booking.

Where can I catch a taxi from?

The official airport taxi stand is on the ground floor outside the Arrivals and Departures Hall. As you exit the building, turn left, and you will see a line of yellow taxis waiting for passengers.

Convenience

Catching a taxi from Enfidha-Hammamet Airport to Hammamet city center is the only reliable means of public transport since they are available 24/7 and offer affordable metered rates. The downside is that vehicles are quite small, so if you’re traveling with children or as a larger group, a pre-booked transfer may be more suitable so that you can select an appropriate vehicle. Also, keep in mind the need to negotiate with a taxi driver, which may mean booking a fixed-fare private transfer in advance is preferred.

Useful Tips

Hammamet taxis can be quite small so if you're traveling with lots of luggage, you may only be able to fit three passengers in each vehicle.
Avoid accepting a ride from anyone who approaches you inside the terminal as they are more than likely not an official taxi driver. Stick to the taxi stand outside the terminal instead.
Tipping isn't part of the Tunisian culture so you are neither expected or obliged to leave anything. If anything, you may like to leave the change, or round up the fare to the nearest significant amount.
All rides from the airport will be charged a €1.30 (TND 4.5) surcharge.
