Just off the Persian Gulf, a small archipelago, Bahrain, is situated. The state consists of 80 natural and artificial islands and features desert landscapes, ancient ruins, and modern architecture. Bahrain served as a trade centre in antiquity, and now, its city centre, Manama, is a major financial hub in the region. During your visit to Bahrain, you can explore the Dilmun artefacts at the Bahrain National Museum, browse the antiques at the traditional markets, and catch some sun at one of the many beaches.
The distance from Bahrain airport to Manama is just over 10 kilometres. After landing at the airport, you can reach the city by taxi or bus. Taking a Bahrain airport taxi is the most comfortable and quickest means of transportation. The journey takes around 15 to 20 minutes by taxi, and the fare costs at least €16 (BHD 6). You can also take the bus from Bahrain airport to the city; the bus journey takes just under 30 minutes, not including wait times, and costs €0.80 (BHD 0.30) per traveller.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Bahrain at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
