Tangier is a combination of Oriental exoticism and European charm. Marbled suks and colourful alleys give way to colonial buildings and artistic outlets. The city has been extensively depicted in fiction and film by artists such as writer Paul Bowles (the author of “The Sheltering Sky”), who fell in love with Tangier and decided to make it his home for the rest of his life.
Your very own story starts at Tangier Ibn Battouta International Airport (TNG), located 13km southwest of the city centre. The options to reach downtown are two; taxi and bus. A taxi from Tangier Airport to the city centre is the most convenient and quick option, as it will take you to your destination downtown in 20-25 minutes, with minimum waiting times, for €9.10 (MAD 100). On the other hand, the bus is a much more affordable option at just €0.50 (MAD 5) per ticket, but it entails much more hassle because the bus stop is located outside the airport, meaning you will have to walk 2km.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Tangier at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
