When visiting Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland in northern Finland, you’ll be anything but short of things to see and do. In winter you can chase the northern lights, spend some time learning about the Arctic region at Arktikum Museum, go dog sledding and of course, meet Santa Claus. In summer, you’ll be treated to endless daylight with sunny midnight walks and you can take part in the tradition of a sauna visit combined with an arctic swim.
There are two ways to get from Rovaniemi Airport to Rovaniemi city centre; you can take a taxi or private transfer, or hop on the shared airport shuttle bus. Both options take around 10 minutes to get to the city during light traffic, however, the taxi and private transfer option will deliver you straight to the door of your accommodation. A local taxi will cost €28 when travelling in a group of up to 4 people, and for 5-8 people, you will pay around €37. The shuttle bus will cost €8 per person which makes it a very affordable option when travelling in a smaller group.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Rovaniemi at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
