How do I get from Boracay Airport to the city center by taxi?

Considering the close proximity of Boracay Airport to Boracay Island, the journey to the three main beaches (called Stations) is not without its complications. A Boracay Airport taxi to the city center you will first need to take a 10 to 15-minute van or tricycle ride to either Cagban Port or Tambisaan Port – both are within equal distance but they are open at different times of the year.

From there, you will board a boat or ferry to Boracay Island which takes 15 minutes. Once on the other side, you’ll have the choice of an open-air multi-cab or an E-Trike (an electrical tricycle and the main mode of transport on the island). This final leg to your hotel will take 10-15 minutes, depending on your exact destination. In total, expect the journey to take around 45 minutes, not including wait times for the boat.

*E-trikes and vans can seat up to 6 or 8 people.

How much will my taxi and boat journey cost?

The cost of your journey will depend on what type of taxi from Boracay Airport to the city center you choose to take. For instance, you can opt for a shared or private tricycle or van, or you may decide to mix and match! In either case, shared means you pay just for your seat which is ideal for solo travelers, and private means you pay for the entire vehicle. Nevertheless, the price for a one-way journey will cost between €1.35 and €4.75 (PHP 85-300) per person.

On top of that, you’ll need to pay for the boat from Boracay Airport to the city which costs €0.80 (PHP 50) per person.

*Note that the further your destination from the port, the more your ticket will cost.

Where will my taxi and boat depart from?

In the Arrivals area there are booths where you’ll be given a coupon for a van or tricycle. Once you have your coupon, make your way outside to the parking lot, where you’ll pay for your ticket and be assigned a vehicle. The same system also applies at the ferry terminal, where you’ll be given a ticket and assigned a boat.

Once you make it to Boracay Island, drivers will approach you asking to take you to your destination. Just be sure to agree on the price before departing.

Convenience

Given that Boracay Airport isn’t actually on the island of Boracay, transport options are limited and you must travel from Boracay Airport to the city center by taxi (tricycle or van) and boat. A tricycle is a great choice for the more adventurous traveler and the E-Trikes are quite modern and dare we say, comfortable. However, a van is slightly more suitable in wet weather and best for those with lots of luggage.

Useful Tips

Station 3 is closest to the port and therefore the cheapest one to reach.
Multi-cabs and tricycles are both open-air.
If you're up for adventure, the tricylce is the way to go.
The boat/ferry won't leave until it is full which can take up to 30 minutes.
Try to board the boat last so that your luggage is placed on top of the pile, rather than the bottom.
Children under the age of 5, seniors, and Filipinos may receive a discounted price for the terminal and environmental fee.
At the port terminal, you will need to fill in a Tourist Arrival Form before boarding your boat.
