Salalah is the turquoise jewel of southern Oman’s Dhofar province. Known for its epic banana plantations, wide stretches of Arabian Sea beaches, clear waters and vibrant sea life, Salalah is the perfect place for a relaxing tropical vacation. To switch it up from the incredible snorkelling waterfall chasing and beach life, you can head inland to the Al Balid Archaeological Site, with its fascinating Frankincense Land Museum.
When travelling the Muscat Airport to Salalah distance, you can take a local taxi or book a private airport taxi. Not all local Muscat taxi drivers will be willing to make the 9-hour and 30-minute journey to Salalah, so it may be more convenient to pre-book your transfers to avoid any delays or disappointment. If you do take a local taxi from Muscat Airport, you can expect to pay around €700 (OMR 300).
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Muscat at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
