Meknes is an extremely important city in Morocco, as it’s one of the four Imperial cities of the North African country. Strolling through the beautifully tiled Bab Mansour gate, you will enter the old imperial city centre of Meknes, a historical wonder. Here, you will find the Mausoleum of Sultan Moulay Ismail, the Heri es-Souani stables and the breathtaking Agdal pond. Meknes also has countless local bazaars, where you can shop the city’s many famous exports, including woven baskets, ornate tiles, silverware, and wool.
To get from Fes Airport to Meknes, you have two different transfer options; taxi or private transfer, or combine a train and a bus for your trip. Taking a local airport taxi will cost approximately €60 (MAD 650) and will take 60 minutes to reach Meknes. The train and bus combo will take closer to 1 hour and 30 minutes and will cost €3 (MAD 29) per traveller.
