Virginia Beach is a vibrant beach destination located on the east coast of Virginia. The beach scene is lively all year round. In the autumn and winter, you can ride horses along the beach and fish in the open ocean. In the spring and summer, kayaking with dolphins and windsurfing are local highlights. No matter how you want to spend your beach holiday, there are activities for the whole family.
To get from Richmond Virginia Airport to Virginia Beach, we recommend taking a taxi.
Unfortunately, the public transport options from Richmond Airport to Virginia Beach are limited. You would have to take a combination of buses and trains, with over four different transfers. The journey takes at least 4 hours and 30 minutes, and many of the services are only available on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Given the complexity and stress that public transport would incur, we don’t recommend any bus or train routes.
The best and smoothest way of making the 163 km journey is to take a taxi. It shouldn’t take longer than 1 hour and 35 minutes.
For the most relaxing journey, you can book a private transfer. You’re guaranteed to have a comfortable ride to your destination with a friendly, professional driver and a hand-selected vehicle.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Richmond at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
