To begin your journey, hop on the Red Line of the RTA train from the Airport Station (in the direction of Stokes/Windermere) and after nine stops, get off at the Tower City Station, in downtown Cleveland. Then you need to walk to the nearby stop W. Prospect Ave & Superior Ave, switch to Bus 61 (Direction: Rkp Transit Centre) and get off at the last stop, which is the Rkp Transit Centre station in Akron. Your travel time should be around 1 hour and 30 minutes (30 minutes for the train and 1 hour for the bus), excluding waiting times.

Where do I get the train and the bus from?

To get to the train, you first need to find the RTA’s Airport Station, located on the lower level of the terminal complex. To spot it, take the elevators or escalators near the centre of the ticketing and baggage claim levels.

To switch to the bus, get off the train at the Tower City Station, when you reach downtown Cleveland. Then walk for four minutes until you find the nearby bus stop W. Prospect Ave & Superior Ave, hop on Bus 61 and stay on it until you reach your final destination in Akron, Ohio.

Using Cleveland’s public transportation system to get from Cleveland airport to Akron, Ohio, is not the best choice if you are in a hurry to get to your hotel as a direct option isn’t available.
