A major Islamic pilgrimage site, Medina is one of the most popular places to visit in Saudi Arabia. One of the city’s most famous sites is the Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, a striking mosque with picturesque green domes that’s the final resting place of Prophet Muhammad. If you’re looking for a historical and strongly religious city to visit in Saudi Arabia, Medina is a great option.
There are three different ways to get from Jeddah airport to Medina; taxi, bus or train. Taking a Jeddah airport taxi is the most comfortable option, with a journey time of 3 hours and 45 minutes, and a cost of around €130 (SAR 550). The quickest transfer option is to take a train from Jeddah airport to Medina, as it takes just 2 hours and costs €30 (SAR 120). Your final option is the SAPTCO bus, which is the cheapest way to travel. A one-way ticket on the bus costs just €20 (SAR 79), but the journey is a long 5 hours and 30 minutes, not including wait times.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Jeddah at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
