Abisko is a beautiful mountain village located in the north of Sweden. As Abisko is north of the Arctic Circle, it has incredible views of the Northern Lights and is a fantastic place to get out into nature. The most famous activity in this beautiful area is the King’s Trail, which begins in the Abisko National Park and ends in Hemavan. On the trail, you can often see lemmings and reindeer and the infamous Lapp orchid.
When it comes to your transfer from Kiruna Airport to Abisko, you can either pre-book your transfers or take a local Kiruna Airport taxi. The journey time will be around 1 hour and 15 minutes and the cost will be approximately €350 (SEK 4,000). Unfortunately, there’s no bus from Kiruna Airport to Abisko. To take public transport, you would need to take the extremely infrequent Flygbussen from the airport to Kiruna bus station, walk 30 minutes from there to the train station, and then take a train to Abisko. The total journey time will be well over 4 hours. This makes taking the train and bus from Kiruna Airport to Aisko too time-consuming, costly and complicated when carrying any form of luggage.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Kiruna at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
