Floating on the Andaman coast of Thailand, Koh Lanta is a beautiful island district known for its coral-lined beaches, thick mangroves and lush rainforest. One thing you don’t want to miss while in Koh Lanta is the Mu Ko Lanta National Park. This protected collection of 7 islands features a famous waterfall, Khlong Chak Waterfall an exciting cave network, and the largest Island Ko Lanta Yai which is home to the semi-nomadic sea people, the Chao Leh.
To start exploring all this exciting island district has to offer, you have two different modes of transport from Krabi Airport to Koh Lanta; taxi or shuttle bus. Whichever option you choose, you will need to take the car ferry across from Krabi Town to Koh Lanta Noi, then drive across the island, and take the bridge from there to Koh Lanta. The cost of the car ferry is €0.50 (THB 23) per person and must be paid at the ferry terminal. The ferry is available from 06:00 to 22:00 and it leaves once full.
Taking a taxi from Krabi Airport to Koh Lanta will take around 1 hour and 50 minutes and will cost approximately €75 (THB 2,800). Taking a shuttle bus from Krabi Airport to Koh Lanta will take anywhere from 3 to 6 hours and will cost €10 (THB 382), including the ferry fare.
