Lake Como, Italy’s third-largest lake, nestled in the Alps, is renowned for its romantic beauty. Its distinctive Y shape, sculpted by glaciers and the Adda River, harbours charming towns like Como, Lecco and Bellagio. Visitors can explore picturesque villages, relax on shores, take boat tours, and enjoy nature walks.
Getting from Lugano Airport to Lake Como by taxi or a private transfer is the most convenient and fastest transportation option, with a travel time of around 50 minutes, depending on traffic conditions, and a minimum fare of €110 (CHF 106).
Alternatively, you can take a combination of trains and some walking from LUG Airport to Lake Como for a total cost of around €25.80 (CHF 25) per person. First, you will have to get from the airport to Lugano train station, from where you can then board a train to Como. This option will take a lot more time and won’t be suitable for heavy packers.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Lugano at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
