How to get from Merida Airport to Progreso

Unfortunately, there’s no direct bus from Merida Airport to Progreso. You will first need to walk 10 to 15 minutes to the highway, where you will take a Colectivo van to Merida. From here, you will walk to the bus station, and take a local bus to Progreso. The total journey time will be at least 2 hours and the cost will be €2.50 (MXN 48) per person.

The cost of a single ride on the Colectivo van to Merida is €0.50 (MXN 8), then the cost of the bus from there to Progreso is €2 (MXN 40). That’s a total Merida Airport to Progreso transfer cost of €2.50 (MXN 48). 

Choosing the bus as your transportation from Merida Airport to Progreso is the least safe or convenient option. You will have to walk through busy city streets and along a major highway with your luggage to get the buses and could have a very long wait for your ride to arrive. There’s also no luggage storage on the buses, so if you’re travelling with large suitcases you may be denied access to the bus.
