When you have a vacation in Progreso planned, the last thing you want to do is start off with a stressful transfer. To begin your idyllic Mexican getaway with the perfect transport for you and your group, you have 3 options to get from Merida Airport to Progreso: taxi, private transfer or public buses. Taking a taxi or private Merida Airport transfer is the fastest and only direct way to travel, with a door-to-door journey time of just 40 minutes.
A slightly more budget-friendly option would be to take the public buses if you’re traveling solo or as a couple. However, these buses aren’t direct and are notoriously slow and unreliable. You will first have to take the Va y Ven bus from the airport into the city center, then walk around 10 minutes from the ADO station to the Autoprogreso bus station. From here, you will take the Autoprogreso bus to Progreso. The total journey time will be a slow 2 hours.
Note: Are you looking for a train from Merida Airport to Progreso? There are plans to build a Merida Airport to Progreso train route, but this is not yet an option.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Merida at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
