The small town of Kadena situated along the western shore of Okinawa’s main island is home to a large US Air Force base. In Kadena, visitors can enjoy cultural centres and shopping complexes, including Navel Kadena with numerous retail and dining options. To enjoy some sunshine, travellers can visit the Yara Castle Site, an expansive park built at the site of a 15th-century Ryukuan castle, or spend some time at the Kadena Marina Complex beach or another of the nearby beaches.
