The most famous landmark in Pisa, Italy is the Leaning Tower of Pisa. However, not many know that this white marble marvel is actually the free-standing bell tower of the neighbouring Pisa Cathedral. The Leaning Tower was completed in 1372 and has been ‘leaning’ since this day, due to unstable foundations. Be sure to take a tour while at the tower and climb the 294 winding steps all the way to the top.
To reach this iconic site, you have two transfer options from Pisa Centrale to the Leaning Tower; taking a taxi or the bus. A taxi will take around 10 minutes to reach the tower and will cost around €10. On the other hand, the bus will cost just €1.70 but will take at least 20 minutes to reach the Leaning Tower, not including the 5-minute walk at the end.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Pisa at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
