Situated on the shores of Ohrid lake, Ohrid is one of the oldest human settlements in Europe. Known for its crystal clear waters and idyllic beauty, it is, without doubt, one of the most picturesque places in the Balkans. It is also one of the few places in the world that has been declared both a Natural and Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO.
There are two transportation options from Skopje airport to Οhrid; one is a taxi and the other the bus. Taking a Skopje Airport Taxi is by far the fastest way of transportation as it covers the distance in less than 3 hours. Opting for the bus, of course, is perfect for those on a tight budget but travellers should note that this isn’t a direct trip and it would require over 4 hours to reach the town of Ohrid, not including waiting times.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Skopje at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
