The popular ski resort of Bansko, Bulgaria, is situated 170 kilometers southeast of Sofia, at the foot of the Pirin Mountains. There are 4 main ways to get from Sofia Airport to Bansko: a taxi, private transfer, shuttle, or public bus.
For a direct transfer from the airport of Sofia, you can travel by either a Sofia Airport taxi, a private Sofia Airport transfer, or a shuttle bus. Taxis and transfers take around 2 hours, dropping you right at the curb of your hotel, whereas the shuttle service takes roughly 30 minutes longer, and you might have to share the ride with strangers.
Alternatively, if you don’t mind connecting at the Sofia Central Bus Station, you can also take the public bus to Bansko. Service times are limited,d and the ride takes about 3 hours in total, making this the least convenient option if you’re hoping to hit the slopes as quickly as possible.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Sofia at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
