Getting from Pisa Airport to Lucca by train

Unfortunately, there isn’t a direct train from Pisa Airport to Lucca. You will first need to take the Pisa Mover monorail to Pisa Centrale station, then take a TrenItalia train from there to Lucca. 

The monorail departs regularly throughout the day and takes just 5 minutes to reach the station. From there, the train to Lucca takes a further 30-35 minutes, bringing the total journey time to around 40 minutes, not including time spent waiting in between.

It’s not possible to catch a train at Pisa Airport to Lucca, as the train departs from Pisa Centrale train station. To get there, board the Pisa Mover monorail from outside the passenger terminal, and once you arrive at the station, refer to the departure boards to find the train platform for Lucca.

Although a fairly fast and affordable way to get from Pisa Airport to Lucca, taking the train isn’t the most convenient. You will need to make a transfer at the busy train station Pisa Centrale, and then once you reach Lucca, you will need to find alternative transport to reach your hotel.
