Getting from Almeria Airport to Vera Playa

Travelling by bus from Almeria Airport to Vera Playa is a relatively cheap option. However, the route is not direct and you’ll need to catch more than one bus.

For the first part of your journey, you’ll need to get on the Surbus Line 30 bus from the airport to the main bus station in central Almeria, Estacion Intermodal de Almeria. The ride will take approximately 35 minutes and cost just €1.05. From there, you can hop on an ALSA bus to central Vera, they depart from the bus station every 1-2 hours and the trip takes approximately 1 hour.

Once you’ve arrived in Vera, it’s a quick 16-minute local bus to Vera Playa. Baraza provides buses departing every  hour and you can take Line 1, 2 or 4 to get in the vicinity of Vera Playa. 

All in all, travelling by bus from Almeria Airport to Vera Playa will cost you approximately €12.60.

The Surbus service will cost you €1.05, you’ll pay €10.20 for the ALSA bus and €1.35 for the local bus from Vera to Vera Playa.

For the Surbus and local Vera bus services, tickets are only available directly from the bus driver so make sure you have some cash handy. ALSA tickets are available for purchase from the bus station in Almeria, online or on board the bus. 

The bus system is a cheap, reliable way to travel to Vera Playa, however, the service isn’t direct and you’ll need to take at least 3 different buses to get there. Furthermore, this transfer option takes double the time of a taxi to reach your final destination.

*A few private transfer companies operate a direct shuttle bus from Almeria Airport to Vera Playa, these typically cost around €30 per person but are not that frequent and depend on demand. One of the most known companies for this option is Shuttle Spain Transfers.
