How to get from Aqaba Airport to Wadi Rum

There are two ways to get from Aqaba Airport to Wadi Rum; taking a taxi or the local bus. The airport taxis will take around 50 minutes to get to Wadi Rum and will cost approximately €40 (JOD 30). The JETT bus will take 1 hour and 50 minutes and will cost €32 (JOD 25) one-way, as you will need to take a taxi into Aqaba first, so it’s not a direct trip.

There’s a JETT bus that leaves from downtown Aqaba to Wadi Rum once a day at 08:00. From the airport, you will need to take a taxi to Aqaba, and then get the bus from there to Wadi Rum. The total journey time will be 1 hour and 50 minutes.

How much is the trip by taxi and bus from Aqaba Airport to Wadi Rum?

Where do I find the bus?

The JETT bus leaves from Aqaba City, not Aqaba Airport. You will first need to take a taxi to the city centre. The pickup point is the JETT Ticket Office in downtown Aqaba.

Taking a taxi and the JETT bus to cover the journey from Aqaba Airport to Wadi Rum is extremely inconvenient and slow. The bus only leaves once a day and because of this is usually full. Plus, the cost of taking a cab and the bus is almost the same as taking a taxi for the entire journey – which is a quick, private and much more convenient transfer option.
