The Enterprise trains offer a budget-friendly travel option to connect Belfast and Dublin with several daily departures. The train journey takes 2 hours and 15 minutes. However, if you plan to use public transportation, please note that the journey from Belfast Airport to Lanyon Place Station, where the trains depart, can only be done by bus, which takes approximately 1 hour.

To get to Lanyon Place from Belfast Airport, take Bus 300 towards Europa Bus Centre. From there, you can walk for 17 minutes or take a taxi. The combined bus and train travel time takes around 3 hours and 15 minutes, not including wait time.

Where do I get the bus and train from?

Bus 300 leaves outside Belfast Airport’s terminal and travels to Europa Bus Centre, which is the last stop. Trains to Dublin depart from Platform 2 at Lanyon Place. Double-check your train’s platform number on one of the departure screens to be on the safe side.

While the train is a relatively quick and affordable travel option to Dublin, the fact that it requires a transfer to the city centre by bus makes it not very convenient. Additionally, the bus stop is not near Lanyon Place Station, where the train departs, meaning you will have to walk for 17 minutes or take a taxi. If you have luggage, don’t know the city well, or travel with children, this option is probably not the best for you.

Bus X705, operated by Aircoach, offers express transfers between Dublin and Londonderry via Belfast International Airport. This route is much better than taking a bus to the city centre and the train to Dublin. The only drawback is that there are only 12 departures a day, so you may have to wait for a while if you happen to arrive at a time when the frequency is reduced.
