Bern is a historic hub dating back to the 12th century. The UNESCO world heritage city features charming medieval architecture in Altstadt (Old Town) which is bordered by the Aare River. Bern is also known as the City of Fountains, having many fountains throughout the city centre.
The Bern city centre is around 10 kilometres from Bern airport. You can make the trip to the centre by taxi or by bus and train. Taking an airport taxi is the fastest, easiest means of transport. The journey takes 15 to 25 minutes by taxi, and it costs at least €47 (CHF 46). If you want to save some money, you can combine a bus and train to reach the centre; the combined trip takes around 30 minutes, excluding wait times and costs €4.70 (CHF 4.60).
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Bern at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
