Interlaken is a picturesque traditional town surrounded by the Bernese Alps. The town was built in a valley between the blue waters of Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. It is the perfect base for outdoor adventurers with hiking and skiing trails nearby, and you can also go kayaking, swimming, canyoning, paragliding and more.
Interlaken is around 50 kilometres from Bern airport. You can make the trip to the town by taxi or train. Taking an airport taxi is the fastest, easiest means of transport. The journey typically takes 40 to 50 minutes by taxi, and it costs at least €208 (CHF 202). If you want to save some money, you can also take the train to reach Interlaken. However, keep in mind that the trip by train requires a few changes and takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes, not including wait times, at a cost of €12 (CHF 11.60) per traveller.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Bern at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
