Taking a taxi from Cairo airport to Giza Pyramids is by far the quickest and only direct transfer option. Cairo airport taxis are available 24/7 and take just 60 minutes to reach the pyramids.

The local taxi drivers at Cairo airport don’t offer a flat-rate fee for the journey from Cairo to the Pyramids. Instead, they will calculate your fare using a taximeter. Where do I get it from?

The official white taxis can be found just outside of the arrivals hall at Terminal 1, 2 and 3 at Cairo airport. Simply look for the long line of cars and walk to the front of the line.

How to get from Cairo Airport to Giza by bus

Unfortunately, there’s no direct bus route from Cairo airport to the Pyramids. You will first need to take the 111 or 381 bus to Ramses Railway Station in the centre of Cairo, and then take the Sadat Metro Line 2 to Sadaki Mekki Station. From here, you can either take another bus to Giza or take a taxi. The total journey time is quite long at 1 hour and 50 minutes.

How much is the bus from Cairo Airport to Pyramids?

The cost of a one-way ticket for the 111 or 381 bus to Ramses Railway Station is €0.50 (5.00 EGP). The cost of a ticket for the Sadat Metro Line 2 to Sadaki Mekki Station is also €0.50 (5.00 EGP). Then, the cost of a bus from there to the Pyramids is €0.20 (3.00 EGP), or a taxi costs €1 (15.00 EGP).

Where do I get it from?

The public buses 111 to Shoubra and 381 to Imbaba can be found at the Cairo airport bus station. The bus station is located just outside of Terminal 1. If you land in Terminal 2 or 3, you will first need to take the free shuttle bus to Terminal 1.

Convenience

As there’s no direct bus from Cairo airport to the Giza Pyramids, this is the least convenient transfer option. You will have to make multiple changes and try to navigate the Cairo Metro stations, leaving your personal belongings vulnerable. This transfer option also takes double the time of a taxi to reach the Pyramids from Cairo airport, wasting precious moments of your vacation.
