Unfortunately, there’s no direct bus from Guadalajara Airport to Ajijic. You will need to walk around 20 minutes to the highway to get the Chapala bus, which you will take into downtown Guadalajara. From here, you will switch to the Chapala Plus bus, which will take you to Ajijic. The total journey time is at least 2 hours and the cost of both tickets is €3.60 (MXN 72), making the bus a very slow but cheap transfer option.

There are no public buses that leave directly from the airport. If you’re looking for public transportation from Guadalajara airport to Ajijic, you will first have to walk around 15 to 20 minutes along the Chapala – Guadalajara highway. Please note that this walk isn’t very pedestrian friendly and isn’t recommended for those with small children or large luggage items.

Convenience

Taking the bus from Guadalajara airport to Ajijic is the slowest and least convenient option. Not only will you have to drag your luggage along a busy highway for 20 minutes to reach the bus stop, but you will also have to make a change to another bus in downtown Guadalajara, adding time and stress to your journey.
