Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport (GDL), more simply known as Guadalajara Airport, opened in 1966 and serves Mexico’s third-largest city, Guadalajara. This impressive airport serves around 12 million passengers a year, making it one of the busiest in the country. The airport is located 18 km from downtown, so taking a Guadalajara Airport taxi shouldn’t take longer than 30 minutes.
Once your driver has left the airport, they will begin to follow signs for Guadalajara and will merge onto the Chapala – Guadalajara highway. You will follow the Chapala – Guadalajara highway for around 11 km, before taking the ramp on the left to Puerto Vallarta/Tepic/Zapopan/Av Lazaro Cardenas. You will then reach a fork in the road, where you will see a sign for Zinapecuaro – Guadalajara, where you will keep right. After around 3 km, you will then take the exit towards Periferico and immediately merge onto Calz. Lázaro Cárdenas. Finally, your driver will take a right onto Av. Gobernador Luis G. Curiel, which will lead you into downtown Guadalajara.
