Created in the early 70s to be used as an executive retreat for the upper management of Gulf+Western – an American conglomerate that ran one of the world’s largest sugar mills based in La Romana, Casa de Campo has sprawled to become one of the Caribbean’s most luxury and prominent resorts. Its 7,000-acre area includes stylish suites and villas, restaurants, world-class golf courses (its “Teeth of the Dog”, designed by the legendary Pete Dye, is considered one of the best globally), and amenities for all kinds of activities.
La Romana Airport (built to accommodate Casa de Campo’s guests, essentially its own airport!) is just 4km from the resort’s check-in point. Once landed, your only transfer option is a local airport taxi or private shuttle. It’s a very short, 10-minute drive to the entrance of Casa de Campo.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to La Romana at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
