The easiest way to reach it if you are flying, is to land at the Penang International Airport, located on Penang Island.
To reach Bukit Mertajam from Penang Airport, you can either take a taxi or private transfer by bus. A taxi or private transfer is the most convenient option, will take only around 50 minutes and cost around €15-20 (MYR 80-100) depending on the time of your arrival and traffic. To have a fixed price, you can pre-book your private transfer and have a comfortable and reliable transfer ready for your arrival.
You can also take the bus, but you’ll need to make a change in Komtar and then navigate from the bus stop to your final destination in Bukit Mertajam. The ride will take approximately two hours but only will cost around €1.
