There is no direct public transport option to Cannon Beach from Portland airport. The most efficient public transport option is using a combination of the Max Light Railway service (Red Line) and a bus service run by NorthWest Point.

The first leg of this journey involves taking the Red Line (Max Light Railway) train service from Portland airport, which departs every 15 minutes, to Sunset TC Max station. Here you will change for the second leg of your journey and take the NorthWest Point bus service (Portland to Astoria route – westbound) from The Sunset Transit Centre to Cannon Beach.

Please note there are only two trips per day scheduled for this bus route, the first departing in the morning at 08:40 and the second trip departing at 17:50, so waiting times can be very long. Actual travel time is just under three hours, not taking any waiting time into consideration.

The public transport option only involves one connection/change and the train leg of the journey runs every 15 minutes, however the bus service to Cannon Beach only runs twice a day so if you can’t make one of the two scheduled trips at 08:40 or 17:50 you will experience very long waiting times or need to find alternative means of transport.
