Lodz, found in central Poland, is a history and art buff’s dream destination. Some of the city’s most beautiful buildings, such as the Palace of Izrael Poznański, have been converted into museums or art venues where you can easily get lost for a day or two wandering through each of the unique spaces. Dotted around town you’ll also find old textile factories, but the best place to learn about the trade that put Lodz on the map, is the Central Museum of Textiles which exhibits original machinery from the 19th century and houses one of the largest collections of fabrics in the world.
From Podzan Airport to Lodz there are three different modes of transport that you can take; taxi or private transfer, a bus and train trip or a shared shuttle and bus journey. The cheapest option is the combined shared shuttle and Flixbus journey which costs €12.40 (PLN 53.70) per person and takes 192 minutes, excluding wait times, to get to the city centre. The quickest and most convenient option is a taxi or private transfer, which takes between 150 and 190 minutes, depending on traffic conditions, for a door-to-door service. Alternatively, you can take a combined bus and train journey which is a comfortable and affordable option, costing just €18.40 (PLN 79) per traveller, but it has the longest journey time at around 247 minutes.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Poznan at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
